Tips for an Easy-to-Change Sports-Themed KidÍs Bedroom
If your child wants a sports-themed bedroom, but you donít want to go all out in case he gets bored with it, there are things you can do to strike a compromise. A few sports-related touches can go a long way in making you both happy.
If your child has a favorite team, use those colors in your decorating scheme. Many paint manufacturers have collections featuring the colors of professional and college teams. Choose colors like blue, gray, and white for the walls and save the reds and oranges for accent colors. This will enable you to change up the look of the room without having to completely repaint.
Use the team logo in a few places to anchor the theme. You can find wall decals with logos and create a focal point in the room. The decals come off easily without damaging the paint. Add a few sports pillows to the bed to tie into the theme. These can easily be swapped out for something else later.
An area rug in one of the team colors will coordinate the room and you wonít have to replace it later on. Add the finishing touches with some memorabilia or equipment on display shelves painted to match the team colors (hereís where you can put those accent colors to use). These are also easy to swap out if you change the design of the room. A poster or two can be changed in a flash as well.
