Small Space Storage Magic
Whether you live in a studio apartment or small house, storage
can be a challenge. Knocking down walls to make new closets may not be possible, but there are things you can do to maximize the space you have. Here are some suggestions for creating more storage
in the same amount of space.Get Under The Bed
A king-sized mattress takes up about 42 square feet of floor space. What not use that 42 feet to store bulky blankets, out-of-season clothing, pillows, bed linens or your luggage? There are many different containers that can help you make the most of your underbed space, from rolling bins to sliding drawer units to those space-saver vacuum bags. If you need more space, invest in an adjustable bed riser set and lift up your bed a few inches to gain even more space. Adjustable risers are ideal because you can change the height to accommodate changing space requirements.
Go Up The Wall
Wall space is often wasted space. Adding shelving can create more storage space. Baskets and bins can hold smaller items while larger ones can stand on their own. Conserve floor space by wall-mounting anything you can, like your television. Components can be placed on a wall-mounted shelf.
Getting rid of unwanted or unnecessary items can open up a lot of space. Once that space is cleared, you can organize what’s left, giving everything its own designated space while keeping clutter at bay.
