Shower Curtain Shop

Bedbathstore.com has a huge selection of shower curtains. By huge we mean more than 1,000 shower curtains in every imaginable color, pattern, design, style and size. We offer such a vast selection because we know that the shower curtain is one of the defining elements to a bathroom and we want you to find the perfect shower curtain for your specific bathroom. Don't settle for anything generic; pull up a chair and browse around until you find the perfect match.

We know that not every shower is created equal. This is why we carry both extra wide and extra long shower curtains in hard-to-find lengths of 84", 96" and even 108". The extra wide shower curtains are available with widths of 108", many of which are made by Interdesign.

We carry it all: vinyl and fabric curtain liners, extra long curtain liners, stall shower curtains and liners, extra wide shower curtain liners, and even environmentally friendly non-toxic shower curtains and liners. We have lace shower curtains by Heritage Lace, modern printed ones, retro designs, kid's bathroom shower curtains, designer shower curtains, contemporary designs, country designs by Linda Spivey and luxury shower curtains by manufacturers like Croscill. We even offer coordinating window treatments to match many of our shower curtains!

All our shower curtains are as different in design as in style, too. Our vinyl shower curtains are treated with a chemical biocide that makes them mold and mildew resistant. Fabric curtains, however, are not treated with this chemical as it would wash out after just a few washings. Many of our vinyl shower curtains and liners are environmentally friendly; they are identified by a PEVA or EVA designation. Also, vinyl shower curtains are naturally waterproof. Even if you aim the nozzle directly at the curtain no water will pass through it, though it will drip down and pool under it. Many fabric curtains are treated to be water repellant. The water will bead and run down the length of the curtain but water will pass through it if aimed directly at the curtain.

Keep these things in mind when looking for shower curtains. High-traffic showers or kids' showers might benefit from vinyl curtains, such as those by JoJo Designs, whereas a guest bathroom might suffice with a fabric curtain. Also, don't forget to pair your new shower curtain with matching bath towel sets and rugs by brands such as Creative Bath, Veratex, Avanti, Bacova, and Blonder.

  • How To Care For Shower Curtains
Keeping your shower curtains clean can be a challenge. They are constantly assaulted by moisture and heat, which can cause mold and mildew. Regular showers deposit soap residue on the curtains, which attracts and traps dirt. If not properly cleaned, shower curtains can not only become unsightly, they can smell.

Before you attempt to clean your shower curtain, check the care label. Shower curtains are made from a wide range of materials and may require different care. Most curtains, however, can be washed in your washing machine with regular detergent. If the label doesn’t prohibit it, you can add a cup of regular chlorine bleach to the wash cycle to kill any mold or mildew and to deodorize it. If you cannot use bleach, substitute a cup of baking soda instead. Be sure to use warm or cold water, never hot—hot water can melt plastic shower curtains.

Most shower curtains, especially plastic ones, should not be placed in the dryer. Check the care label for specific instructions. The best method is to hang your clean shower curtain back in the bathroom to drip dry.

Preventing mold and mildew is key. You can use one of those commercial shower sprays, but if you are adverse to harsh chemicals in your shower, there are some natural remedies you can try. Shower curtains can be soaked in a mixture of white vinegar and water to prevent mildew. This can be done in your washing machine. After soaking, spin and hang to dry.

Some information about Modern Fabric Shower Curtains, Mold and Mildew:

All vinyl shower curtains are treated with a biocide that makes them resistant to the formation of mold and mildew. In the event that any mold appears, it is due to the fact that soap scum has been allowed to accumulate on the surface of the curtain. The scum is a food source for the mold. Attention to the care instructions will add to the overall life and appearance of the vinyl product.

Fabric shower curtains are NOT treated with a biocide because it would wash out after only two to three washings and we therefore consider it pointless! Once again, the culprit is the soap scum which is a food source for the bacteria (mold & mildew). Following our care instructions, will give you problem free and hygienic product. Oxygen bleach is an excellent product that helps to eliminate tiny air-borne mold spores that cling to the fabric fibers.

Waterproof shower curtains : All vinyl shower curtains are 100% waterproof which means that water cannot migrate through the material.

Water repellent shower curtains : Most fabric shower curtains require no Shower Curtain Liner because they are treated with a water repellent finish. With this treatment, water will “bead” off the curtain. It is not recommended that a shower nozzle be aimed directly towards the fabric, as some water can migrate through the curtain.

You will always extend the usable life of your fabric shower curtain if you protect it with a shower curtain liner.
