Modern Bath Vanities: What to Look for

If you’d like to dress your bathroom in the latest modern style, your
vanity will be a big part of that. Modern
bath vanities are available in a number of materials and colors, but will usually share a few features in common.
Modern decor combines sleek lines, natural materials, and a minimalist sensibility. It is a spare, sophisticated style that shies away from the large scale, making it ideal for smaller spaces like the bath. The same design principles are used in modern
vanities. You’ll find a lot of wood and little embellishment save for a shiny chrome drawer pull or faucet.
Vanities designed in the modern style will have some out-of-the-ordinary features. Vessel sinks—which sit on top of counter rather than flush with it or below it—are popular, as are large sinks that span the entire width of the
vanity. Part of the modern esthetic is open space, so
vanities in this style are often wall-mounted, leaving open space below.
Materials used in these
vanities include different types of woods that can withstand the humidity in the bathroom. Countertops can be natural stone or granite while sinks can be made of many materials, including glass. You may also find
vanities rendered from stainless steel. Fixtures are likely to be made from shiny chrome or nickel.
Some modern
bath vanities will include the cabinet itself, the sink, and in some cases, the faucet and/or a mirror.
