How To Measure Your Windows
You need to know the width and depth of your windows before making a purchase. Using a yardstick or steel measuring tape, measure width in inches across the window facing or across as wide an area as you would like to cover. Measure floor length from the top of the facing to the floor. Use our handy diagram at top as a reference.
How To Size Your Pole Top/Tab Top/Rod Pocket Curtains
All curtains are measured Width x Length.
For fullness, order curtain sizes 2 to 3 times the width of your window. For example, order a 98"wide curtain for 30" to 50" window.
Overall curtain length, anywhere from the sill to the apron or to the floor is a personal preference and need not be exact. By moving your rod up or down a little you can adjust the position of the curtain at your window
Tab curtain lengths include the tabs unless specified.
How to size your Pinch Pleat Curtains
All curtains are measured Width x Length
Pinch Pleat curtains are already gathered for ultimate fullness. Simply order curtains that best adhere to the dimensions of your window. For example, order a 98" wide curtain for a 92"- 98" window.
Rods and Hardware
A standard heavy-duty rod fits in a 1-1/2" rod pocket. A continental rod is a flat rod designed to fit a 3" rod pocket. Wooden pole rods will also work in a 3" rod pocket. Many wooden rod diameters and lengths are available. Double and triple rods are used with valances over panels, and with festoons and jabots. Decorative wooden brass or wrought iron rods , some with fancy finials (end caps), work especially well with tab curtains, laces and sheers.
