Making Your Bathroom More Comfortable
Bathrooms can be cold and rather sterile places, but they donít have to be. There are things you can do to add a sense of warmth and comfort to the bath, transforming it into one of the coziest spots in the house.
Look at your walls: Are they stark white? That may work in museums, but it will cast a chill on your bathroom. Adding color can instantly create a warm, cozy atmosphere. Try earth tones like red, bronze and subtle gold tones. The difference can be dramatic, and paint is one of the simplest and least expensive upgrades you can do.
Donít forget to add a bath mat or rug to your list. Not only does it make the room look more comfortable, it will actually be softer and warmer on your feet than tile or other hard flooring.
Consider investing in a towel warmer. Having a soft, warm towel waiting for you when you emerge from the shower or tub is one of the most comforting things around. You can even warm up a big fluffy robe to wrap yourself up in.
If you love a nice long soak in the tub, youíll want to have a soft place to lay your head. Bath pillows are inexpensive luxuries that pay off immediately. They are available in inflatable and cushioned varieties, and many have soft terry covers for extra comfort. Bath pillows usually have suction cups that attach the pillow to the tub wall to keep it in place.
