How to Choose the Right Bidet Seat for You

Youíve decided that you want to take advantage of the health benefits of a bidet, but have discovered that adding a bidet to your current bathroom without a complete overhaul probably isnít possible. Enter the bidet seat. There are several models available, hereís how to choose the one for you:

  • Price
Do some research and figure out your desired price range. Certain features are available at certain price points, so this can narrow your search immediately.

  • Features
Decide what extras you want in your seat. Some feature heated water, heated seats, temperature settings, water pressure controls, soft-closing seats, and other items. Your price range may rule out some features, so itís best to make a list of must-haves.

  • Your Toilet
There are two factors that will help determine which bidet seat is right for you: your toilet configuration and the seat type.

  • Configuration: Toilets come in two standard configurations: One piece and two piece. The one piece configuration means that the toilet bowl and tank are in one piece, while the two-piece version means the tank and bowl are separate pieces. There are generally more choices for a 2-piece toilet.
  • Shape: Next, determine if your seat is round or elongated. A round bowl will measure about 16.5 inches from the center of the two mounting holes. An elongated bowl measures 18.5.
  • Color: The last consideration is color. Most bidet seats come in a white or off-white (bisque) color.
