Five New Uses for a Hanging Shoe Organizer

That canvas or plastic hanging shoe rack is good for more than just storing shoes. These inexpensive organizers work in every room of the house. Once you start using them, you won’t be able to stop. Here are five new uses for your hanging shoe organizer:

  • In the Bathroom
Hang it on the bathroom to door to store hair styling needs like hairbrushes, combs, elastics, gel, hairspray, and your hairdryer. It will also work for toiletries like toothpaste and mouthwash. Keep your after-shower moisturizer in easy reach by sliding it in to one of the pockets.

  • In the Closet
You’ll want a second organizer in your closet to hold your accessories like scarves, mittens, costume jewelry and belts. You could even use it in place of drawers for items like socks and underwear.

  • In the Craft Area
Fill your shoe organizer with wrapping supplies like tissue paper, tape, and scissors, or sewing supplies like thread, yarn, and ribbon. Arts and crafts supplies like brushes, tubes of paint, glue guns, and stickers can find a safe and easy-access home here too.

  • In the Kitchen
Cleaning supplies, spices, dishtowels, kids’ snacks—there’s almost no end to the things you can use a shoe organizer for in the kitchen. Try filling one with supplies for school lunches like zipper bags, napkins, and plastic utensils.

  • In the Garage
Store nails, screws, washers, and other small hardware, along with hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers. Gardening tools can also be stored in the compartments.
