Baby Bedding Basics: What You Really Need
When you’re expecting a baby, it can be an overwhelming time . There are many choices to make, options to choose from, and advice coming from all different directions. You may be confused as to what you really need to meet your baby’s bedding needs for the first few months of life. Here’s a list of bedding basics that will get you started; you can add on as the need arises.Sheets
Essential crib or bassinet bedding is basically a sheet to cover the mattress. The sheet should fit the mattress snugly with no loose fabric. You’ll need several matching sets as they will probably have to be washed fairly frequently.
This crib essential will protect your little one’s head from bumping against the rails on the crib while also providing a cozy feel. One pad will suffice, but you might want two so you have a spare when you’re washing the first.
Babies love to be wrapped up in a nice, soft cotton blanket. Consider purchasing three or four so you always have a spare in the inevitable event that your infant spits up or otherwise soils the blanket.
As it is suggested that newborns sleep without blankets, warm, comfortable pajamas are essential. Look for the “bag” types that zip or have a drawstring on the bottom; infants are comforted when wrapped up. Pajamas with feet will also keep them warm at night. Invest in six or more sets because you’ll likely go through them quickly.
